Local moviegoers rejoice! Three Eugene-Springfield movie theaters have plans to reopen in the next week with socially distanced showings.

This Friday, Aug. 28 features two openings, one on the coast at City Lights Cinema in Florence (www.citylightscinemas.com), which will debut three new films on Friday followed by the highly anticipated “Tenet” on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Also on Friday, more than 25 classic and new options will screen at the Regal Valley River Center & IMAX (www.regmovies.com/theatres/regal-valley-river-center-imax). Monday, Aug. 31 the downtown Broadway Metro (broadwaymetro.com) will open its doors with five new films and on Friday, Sept. 4, the Cinemark 17 in Springfield (www.cinemark.com/theatres/or-springfield/cinemark-17) will show five new films.

All theaters will reopen with enhanced cleaning and safety protocols. Bijou Art Cinemas and the David Minor Theater have not yet released plans to open doors.
